This year, I decided to spend my Veteran's Day celebrating soldiers and their loved ones. And I'm SO glad I did! I got so see some amazing people, hear some great stories, and it felt really good to spend my Veteran's Day, photographing soldiers, at home, with the people they care about.
Corvallis Engagement Photographer: Nicole & Jake
Photographing a photographer: huge honor, also just a little bit scary. :) Nicole, Jake, & Takota are such a fun bunch that the nerves wore off in mere moments. And they were amazing in front of the lens! Thank you for such an awesome Fall Day you guys! I loved getting to hang out with you and document how cute and in love you are! I can't believe I have to wait almost a whole year for your wedding!
Engagement Session at Gasworks Park, Molly Moon's, & Pioneer Square
My favorite part about engagement sessions is getting to know "my" couple (and what they're like - in front of the camera). I love hearing how you met, what made you fall in love, and all of the special moments in between. Harmony & Andrew shared their first kiss at Seattle's Gasworks Park, so it was a perfect place to start off our photo date."And then he kissed me, and I was like (see photo below)" -Harmony, describing she and Andrew's first kiss. I LOVE getting to share moments like that with people in love. It is probably my favorite part (or at least in the top 10) about being a wedding photographer. (I also especially LOVE the vows and toasts on wedding day.) Although I don't live in Seattle anymore, it will probably always be one of my favorite places. When I lived there, I was a first mate and bartender on the Fremont Ave. So, when it drove by during our photos (below), I had to pause for a moment and wave at my favorite boat captain, Larry. (And, by wave, I mean spastically jump up and down, flailing, to make sure he saw me. He did.) :) After we shared stories, picnic'd, and danced at Gasworks, it was time for a snack break, so we stopped by Molly Moon's, where Harmony & Andrew received TONS of congratulations and well-wishes from strangers. Last stop: Pioneer Square, for dressy clothes and date night.
Congratulations, Harmony & Andrew! I can't wait for your wedding day!!!
