Photographing a marriage proposal has been on my photography bucket list for a LONG time - at least a year or two. I've been dying to witness (and document) the specialness of the moment - to get to see the shock and happiness (and the nervous anticipation) that comes with the moment when two people decide to take that next step.
When Lloyd emailed me to tell me about his super-double-top-secret plans to propose to Crystal while they were on vacation, visiting Oregon, I about melted with happiness. He put SO much thought and care into the details of making this moment special for Crystal.
I made sure to show up a little extra early - just in case Lloyd and Crystal finished their hike faster than anticipated. I could barely contain my excitement when I saw them. I tried to act "normal" (I was pretending to be a nature photographer). There may have been a few tears when Lloyd got down on one knee and Crystal realized what was happening. I don't think I have ever photographed such emotion and happiness. It was REALLY special for me (and them too, obviously, but this is my version of their event). :)
After the proposal, we took a few couple portraits to commemorate the moment, before Lloyd & Crystal headed off to enjoy the rest of the day that Lloyd had planned for them. CONGRATULATIONS LLOYD & CRYSTAL!! It was SO wonderful to meet you! If you lived in Oregon, I'd be begging you to photograph your wedding. I can't wait to hear your wedding plans and see your CA wedding photos when the big day happens!!!
