Please join me in welcoming home - the father of Marcus, Emma, & Liam - the husband of the wonderful Amy - WELCOME HOME NATHAN! We appreciate your service!

Nathan has spent the past year overseas as First Lieutenant (1LT) Nathan Christensen, first platoon (rogue platoon) leader, Force Protection OIC (Officer in charge). If you think that's a mouthful to say, think about the reality of the role. Big stuff.

While Nathan has been overseas, I've had the pleasure of getting to know his people at home. His wife, Amy, is the FRG (Family Readiness Group) leader for the 1186 MP. She does an AMAZING job of bringing the ladies of the 1186 together; they're an amazing support group for each other. (They are also super-fun to hang out with!!).

Marcus, Emma (my name buddy), and Liam are some of the coolest kids ever. I LOVED getting to see them with their dad, enjoying some quality family time.

You're a pretty lucky person if you have a sister for a friend. I know this because my little sister, even though I prefer not to admit it, IS my best friend. Yes, I've tried to ditch her, injure her, and have even pretended not to know her on an occasion or two, but I also LOVE her. A lot. And, when I really NEED someone, she's my first call. She's been my partner in crime, adventure, shopping, and a million other things. She knows pretty much everything about me - and she still loves me. And although I think I have something pretty special, I know I'm not the only one. Anyone with a sister (that they get along with) knows what I'm talking about. A sister is a pretty magical thing. Why am I telling you this? Because Katie & Claire are an awesome pair of sister-friends. They made me smile, and they totally reminded me of my little sister.
